Independancy???

I know I should be better at letting my girls try to feed themselves. I know they need to learn how to eat off of a plate or out of a bowl using a spoon or fork. But just look at these pictures and tell me you'd be happy to let that happen. All day I'm cleaning up two 17 month olds. So I want to try to control some messes, and feeding them is one. I mean don't get me wrong, they can feed themselves great with finger foods and things like that. But oatmeal or soup(like in the pictures) I just can't let go and let them try it themselves. These types of food I feel like I can control some of the mess if I or Jeff feed them. Oh help! Just for references, Madi is the first pic and Gracie is the last. For some reason you can only click on the last picture. Please do and see how bad it is! I know you moms out there deal with the same thing. I just hate cleaning up such a mess times two! Am I the only one??
P.S. Sorry Cordie, I know you'll recognize Gracie's onesie. It is ruined from cheeseburger soup would you like it back?

Oh Lea! I am so SORRY! I can't stand more messes than necessary either so I know where you are coming from. My baby is 3 now so it has been awhile since I have had to deal with that, but I was watching a 9 month old the other day, and just as I was going to give her a bite of peaches - - she sneezed! Yep! You guessed it - - all over me, her, and everything else. Good Luck with the Girls! They are so CUTE!

Yup, I totally understand ya'! Why clean up a mess when you can "control" it. Do they wear bibs? And remember they are only little once. They are darling even in a mess like that.-Let them feed themselves... :) More practice and they will be pro's! :)

Yikes! I'm glad that g&g Lau will be there soon to give you a much needed hand. And then me and dad in a couple of weeks. Hang in there. They're only this age once. I actually miss those messy days with you and your sisters. They are gone for me forever. So sad.
Those cuties are still adorable even when they are a mess. I love them so much. Mom

Wow that is a mess and it is times 2. You are amazing- my one little guy wears me out. Those outfits are so cute and I love the piggy tails (maybe you should call them piglet tells since they are so small), it makes them look so grown up.

I always made Halle wear a bib. Actually she still does. I even take one in with me to the restaraunts too. I know but I hate changing clothes or staining a nice shirt. Everyone always told me let her do it and she'll get better. And it does. She does quite well but still drops stuff. Sometimes it's still a big mess with spaghetti. I can't imagine doing too. but it WILL get better. Good luck!

Eewwwww!!! Might as well just throw them in the kitchen sink!!! Aren't you glad they don't whimper & cry over any little "messy" thing that happens though?? Your mom's right....you'll miss it when it's gone. Now I'm just trying to wonder what potty-training will be like!!! Eewwwww!!! G&G Lau
